Wraparound Fracture AFO
The wraparound fracture AFO can be used for periods of up to 6 months to reduce the weight carried by bones of the distal leg and rearfoot. Through compression of the calf muscle, weight is translated from the proximal leg through the shell of the device and to the ground, bypassing the distal leg. Due to the anterior/dorsal wraparound of this design, donning may be difficult. This device is comprised of a thin polypropylene homopolymer shell with a 35 durometer EVA anterior/dorsal tongue.
